Alport Dale runs from the South East of Bleaklow towards the Ladybower Reservoir and passes the stunning geographical feature of Alport Castles. This is one of the largest landslips in the country, with a distinctive central mound known as ‘the tower’ encircled by some very precarious cliffs of shale and gritstone.

This is gritstone country at it’s finest, with the tumbling blocks and shards creating a shattering contrast to the open moorland above.
